Legendary screen baddie Anton Diffring (The Man Who Could Cheat Death, Where Eagles Dare) plays a brilliant but deranged plastic surgeon wanted by the authorities, who flees to France and under an assumed name acquires, by murder, a rundown circus. His first recruit into this three-ring nightmare is a disfigured female criminal whom he transforms by plastic surgery and trains as a high-wire artist.
